The Listening Therapy Centre, Ireland has been developed as a Centre of Excellence empowering children to achieve their potential. It has been developed as a unique centre where children with attention, listening, speech, language, communication and learning challenges can access the highest standards of knowledge, expertise and treatment programmes that will empower them to achieve their full communication and learning potential.

As consultant speech & language therapists and leaders in the field of speech & language therapy & learning we are delighted to share our approaches, programmes and experiences with you. We will explain our unique and highly effective approaches to working in partnership with children and their families, so that they can achieve their full potential.

We have developed a unique programme of techniques and approaches that will meet your child’s needs in the best, most effective way in the shortest period of time.

We at the Listening therapy Centre, Ireland work in a holistic manner with families incorporating up-to-the-minute techniques with more traditional speech & language therapy approaches. We implement an eclectic approach to the treatment of each child, enhancing each child’s communication and learning skills so that they can achieve their full potential.

Who are we?

Karen O’Connor, Consultant Speech & Language Therapist, is founding-director of The Listening Therapy Centre, Ireland. Originally known as the KidzFirst Clinic, the Listening Therapy Centre has evolved over the past 10 years into one of the leading speech & language therapy centres in Ireland today.

Karen has worked in a variety of specialist settings with a wide range of clients over the past 15 years helping children with complex needs to meet their full potential.

Karen has worked with children with speech and/or language delay, speech and/or language disorder, developmental coordination disorder, ADHD, ADD, Spina bifida, Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Asperger’s syndrome, global developmental delay etc.

Over the years Karen has undergone considerable post-graduate training in many areas including advanced studies in sensory integration, the LiFT™ programme, Therapeutic Listening™ programme, Advanced Therapeutic Listening™ programme, Floortime, Talktools amongst many others.
